AmplifyGood NC

Telling the stories of the contributions of North Carolina's nonprofit sector and their lasting impact on North Carolinians.

Very often the significant and critical contributions of the nonprofit sector– and even more so, the generous support of corporations, foundations and individuals – go unnoticed. But with increased awareness of the work of the nonprofit community, and how their work improves life for North Carolinians, AmplifyGood NC expects to increase giving and volunteering which will result in enhanced service and engagement.

The Background

North Carolina’s non-profit sector is essential to the maintenance and enhancement of the state’s quality of life. Across the state, a diverse array of organizations feed the hungry, educate children and adults, create and nurture art and culture, care for the environment, provide health and wellness services, connect citizens to their communities, provide voices to the voiceless, and much more.

The state is home to more than 11,000 nonprofits which employ 10% of the NC workforce and put $46.3 billion directly into North Carolina’s economy each year. This critical work is only possible thanks to the generous support of foundations, corporations and individuals who generously give of time, talent and treasure.

The Approach

AmplifyGood NC merges the outstanding storytelling capability of UNC-TV Public Media North Carolina with a robust digital platform to generate greater awareness of the impact of North Carolina's nonprofit sector and showcase the commitment of North Carolina's philanthropic community.

The profiled nonprofits will be showcased on the AmplifyGood NC website, through UNC-TV's various social media platforms and broadcast channels. To maximize the reach of this content, stories will be shared with the nonprofit and philanthropic organizations to use as powerful tools for their marketing, promotions and communications.

The greater awareness resulting from the compelling stories of nonprofits across the state, combined with the statewide reach of Public Media North Carolina will lead to increased giving and volunteering thus enhancing service and engagement.
